OUR STORY From the Production Floor to Leadway

Leadway was founded in 2023, but our experience with press brakes began many years earlier.
Before establishing the company, our core team worked as press brake engineers, technicians and after-sales specialists. We were involved in machine development, assembly, commissioning and technical service, spending years on production floors solving problems related to accuracy, stability, operation and maintenance.
Through this experience, we have come to realize that a press brake should not be judged merely by its tonnage, working‑table length or component configuration. The true value of the equipment lies in its ability to solve customers’ real‑world production challenges and deliver consistent, reliable machining results over long‑term operation.

Technical R&D Capability
  • Why We Started Leadway
During years of working with customers, we saw that many bending problems were not caused by one isolated component.Angle deviation could involve machine structure, ram synchronization, crowning, tooling or material springback. Low efficiency could result from programming, positioning, tool changeover or workpiece handling. A machine could meet its basic specifications and still fail to fit the customer’s actual production process. In 2023, we founded Leadway in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, with a clear purpose: to turn years of engineering experience into press brakes and bending solutions built around real workpieces and production requirements. Instead of starting with a standard machine and asking the customer to adapt, we begin with the material, thickness, part dimensions, bending sequence, accuracy and production volume. From there, we determine the appropriate machine structure, drive system, CNC control, backgauge, crowning, tooling and automation configuration.

  • Built with an Engineer’s Mindset
Our core team has between 17 and 22 years of experience in the press brake industry. Their expertise covers mechanical design, electro-hydraulic servo control, intelligent bending systems, automation and technical service. This background shapes the way we develop every machine. We examine how the frame behaves under load, how the ram remains synchronized, how the backgauge positions the part, how crowning affects long-workpiece accuracy and how the operator interacts with the CNC system and tooling. For us, technical development is not about adding features without purpose. Every structure, control function and optional configuration should address a clear production requirement.

What Has Changed, and What Has Not

We have changed from engineers solving individual machine problems into a company developing complete bending equipment and solutions.
What has not changed is the way we approach the work.
We still begin with the customer’s workpiece. We still analyze the process before recommending a machine. We still value reliable performance over unnecessary complexity. And we still believe that the true measure of a press brake is not how it performs during a demonstration, but how reliably it supports production over the years.
This is the principle behind Leadway—and the direction we will continue to follow.
